There is a large hamper on top which brings the coffee down to a mesh over which two prongs keep going in a circle. The coffee is roasted by having a heater below the mesh. This sounds simple. Now take into account that you have to have just the right amount of coffee and the right amount of heat. Add to that the time factor and it all becomes complicated.
